The strength of the Brazilian economy focuses the interest of foreign investors on every productive sector. In 2007, the country absorbed US$ 18,782 billions in foreign investments -84.3% more than the consolidated volume registered in 2006.
Oil & Gas
The Brazilian production of oil in 2007 surpassed 580 millions barrels - a historical record of the industry. In the state of Rio de Janeiro is located the Campos Basin region, a main operational base for the exploration, drilling and extraction of more than 80% of all oil in Brazil. The region counts with more than 40 actives units, besides 19 in development phase.
Considering the scenario, the oil town of Macaé, is the protagonist of the development of the offshore activity and it is the home of Protection Offshore 2008.
